First Haircut!

It only took 17 1/2 months for Brady to finally be ready for his first haircut! I started to get it done last month, but chickened out, plus I was catching grief from the grandparents as well. This time I scheduled the appointment and went with it. I let her trim up his bangs and around his ears, we left the back, because I do think the little long hairs and potential for some curls is cute! :)

Brady did great, we let him watch us get our hair cuts first, and when it was his turn, he sat in the chair like a big boy for the beginning, then being the up/down climber he is, he was ready to get down after one side, so Jason had to hold him, but he did great! The first two pictures are the before, I haven't taken a good "after" shot, but you can tell in the pictures the difference in the front :)

Swimming! :)

We went last night for a late afternoon swim at Mom and Dad's. Brady tried out his new bodysuit! I am not keen on the looks of those things, but I guess safety comes before looks when you have a lil' one! He loves the water, he is warming up to it more, floating on his back, letting us throw him, etc.

outside play

We finally got outside for a little fun, but there is no denying Brady takes after his momma~ after exactly 10 minutes out there, we were both red face and pouring sweat ... It was actually Brady's idea to go on the porch where it was much cooler, I definetly didn't sway his idea! Brady had fun and momma had a mini-photo session, I think I got some really good ones of him!

17 months today!

Brady turned 17 months old today ... It is hard to believe. It is going by way to fast. He is such a little ham and is more fun everyday. I think I catch myself saying this is my favorite time of his life every month. He learns new tricks every day. We now know where his and everyones nose is and he likes to cover his eyes and we "loose" Brady! He thinks that is quite funny!
We haven't had much swim or outside time lately because it has either been so stinking hot or raining. The past 3 days we have tried to go to mom and dad's to swim and it has rained. We are going to try for some outside time today. I will probably blow up his pool and let him play. I also found a deal yesterday, I have been trying to find him an outdoor activity set, and of course the one I want is $300, well I logged onto craigslist yesterday morning, and a lady in McCalla was selling one for $40!! So I jumped on it and bought it, we went and picked it up, of course it is a little sun faded and dirty with dirt and grass, but Brady already tried it out and liked it, so I figured for $40, we will take it!! Hopefully I will have some pictures to post from today!

spaghetti and a bath!

I think it would be okay to say that Brady enjoyed himself some spaghetti the other night. I made the right decisionto take his shirt off and let him eat it and go straight to the bath tub! I love the face/smile he is making, it's so funny!

Really Daddy?

This is what happens when Daddy lets you go outside to play ... pajamas on and socks with sandles! poor kid looks like an old man :)

First Swim of the Summer!

We took Brady to Nani & Papa's house on Sunday for his first swim this year. He was a little sceptical at first, as it was very cold to start with, but within a few minutes he warmed up and wanted to step on and off the float, then he started jumping in and then he would crawl of the side and hang on to the side, within the hour he got braver and braver and turned into a little fish! I was proud of his first real pool experience. He will definitely be back over there for more and more swimming this summer!

He loves his cook-cooks

If there is one thing that Brady will always grab from the pantry, it is the chip ahoy cookies! The boy loves his cook-cooks, and he gets that honestly from his dad (okay and me too!) ... Jason can ask him to go get the cookies from the kitchen, and he will bring back the red box and expect you to give him 2! He got a little confused the other day and brought back the red saran wrap box, and got to the den and looked at it and looked at Jason all funny, and said huh, like he knew he brought the wrong thing!

ouch, my eye!

yes, I won the "bad momma of the year award" ... I did this to his eye! Don't call DHR ... it was an accident :) Marianne and Ty were over at the house and Brady decided he wanted to try some of Ty's milk, when I went to grab the bottle out of his hand that was in his mouth mid air to drink, i scratched his poor little eye ... It hurt him, but I am sure not as bad as it hurt me ...

Weekend Summer Fun!

It was a beautiful weekend, and we tried to take advantage of it! Friday, Marianne and Ty came over, we put Ty in the shade and let him enjoy some sunshine and blew up Brady's new water stuff and let him play. He loved it, even though the water was a little cold, he played his little heart out for over 3 hours. We had a good time and will be doing this alot more this summer. As I said we tried to take advantage of the pretty weather all weekend, and I had all intentions of letting him do it Saturday and/or Sunday, but Saturday I was laid up in the house with a migraine all day and Sunday Brady slept all day long catching up from the exhausting weekend.

Saturday night, we cooked out at Marianne & Brent's house, and had a good time over there despite all our "chaos"!! But with 2 kids who expects cookouts to be normal!! I am so glad it is summer time, I just hope my part-time rein can make it through it!!! :)
